V Day Sweets & Treats Party (post)

The class I have affectionately named “Double Trouble”...well it featured both Merv and myself in one class.  We haven’t done that since we did our little gig at their home!

 

It was good fun re-creating that experience.  Our styles are pretty different…but it gelled together perfectly.

 

Mervyn whipped up some really unique desserts and of course a surprise little pasta for dinner, and I whipped up some traditional dessert with a little “twist”.  

 

Merv whipped up a White Chocolate Mousse with Raspberry Sorbet, Passionfruit Souffle and Strawberry & Chocolate lollipops.  I whipped up a Kahlua Tiramisu and Orange Glazed Bread & Butter Pudding.



 

We kicked off with the session with a little introduction of ourselves…man the stress….so many of the attendees said that their favourite dessert was either tiramisu or bread & butter pudding. 

 

The pressure was on!



 

We kicked off the session with the kahlua tiramisu, and everyone got a wine glass and had a chance to work on their own tiramisu creation.  It was fun watching everyone comparing their own product with others.  It was also a great ice breaker. 

 

I was also very gratifying seeing everyone taking down notes…it was great…the enthusiasm!  



 

Well it all turned out great….and everyone left with a happy belly…some with a takeaway baggie and of course a sugar high. 

 

I love seeing the happy faces…getting chance to share the joy of mucking around the kitchen and making new friends.               

 

I can’t wait till my next baking class where I am teaching the following: 

 

·        Banana cupcake with maple frosting

·        Strawberry shortcake

·        Rich & Moist nut-less chocolate brownies

·        Portugese Egg Tart

·        Bloody mary

Lets Get Baking!

Always wanted to learn how to bake, but didn’t know where to start? Well lets change that this year!

 

Come join Culinary-ness on a sweet journey of sugar and spice and everything nice. Come by and learn how to make an ever popular and versatile Banana cupcake topped with a fragrant maple frosting, followed by a chewy nutless brownie that you can do at home even if you don’t own a cake mixer.

 

The “icing” on the cake will be the simple but crowd pleasing portugese egg tart. All a little daunting, don’t worry… dutch courage in the form of bloody marys will be served.  Lunch/dinner will also be whipped up by Culinary-ness.

Seafood Bonanza! (Post class with Pictures)

Well that was a really great group of attendees over Sunday.  We drooled over the scampie salad while it was being prepared....got stuck into creating our own little fish parcel with ingredients that we liked...attacked the raspberry and almond cake with zest....well ok...everyone wanted as much of the cake corner as possible....finished off with the yummilicious cheesy half shell scallops. 

We had heaps of fun whipping up some yummy dishes and then all kicking back and enjoying the meal. 

Everyone left with a full tummy and a contented grin on their face.

Seafood Bonanza!

Time to switch our attention to our friends in the sea. Seafood! Seafood doesn’t have to be bland or boring. It can be exciting, and a chance to show off your creative juices.

Culinary-ness will be showcasing her ever popular cheesy scallops as a starter followed by a unique scampie salad.

Main course will be a delicious fish parcel with seasonal vegetables, all oven roasted served on a bed of wasabi mash potatoes.

To sweeten the party, she will be teaching her oh so simple award winning Almond Cake with raspberries for dessert.

Party Plan #3 (Brunch with Sparkling Wine)

Lets keep the festive cheer going, and what better way to keep the fizz going with a champagne brunch!

Grab a couple of friends together and come by and learn how to whip up a delicious champagne brunch menu, then kick back with your friends with a glass of sparkling wine or two.

Come by and be merry with us!

This class will be served complete with drinks like iced water, soft drinks and a glass of sparkling wine.

Approx duration: 4 hours

Razor TV Interview

They wanted our comments on what we thought of hawker service in Singapore. Gotta say it was pretty good fun.... :)

Post Party Plan #1 Pictures

The second class was Party Plan #1, and man it was a blast….meeting more new faces and of course…having a friend (Gideon) come by to shoot.


So obviously the pictures came out so much nicer…and honestly….some of them look like they came out of a cookbook!


Party Plan #1 was a simple meal of Thai Beef Salad, Chicken & Mushroom Mash with Truffle Scented Mash, and Apple Tart for dessert.

Everything was whipped up in a flash and we all sat down for a meal together and chatted.

For just 2 weekends, there is a lil treat….classes will be held on Sundays so that more people can come learn how to whip up some simple dinner party menus.
